Journey Home

DAY 1 - GREEN TURTLE CAY TO WEST END - 100 MILES ACROSS THE LITTLE BAHAMA BANK

Lexie napping as Tide Pool makes tracks at 15 knots for 100 miles across the beautiful waters of the Little Bahama Bank enroute to West End

We all find ways of being comfortable on a long run...Bentley is no exception.

After the infamous 'Midway Mutiny', an event to be be feared in any 8 hour run with a family and 2 year old, the Captain broke the No-Media-While-Running-In-Beautful-Waters-Look-For-Dolphins-And-Starfish-Instead rule and cranked up a DVD for the lead mutineer.

The inevitable '6 Hours In, 2 Hours to Go Wrestlemania'. If I have to stop this boat...You'll be Sorry!

NEXT MORNING - LEG 2 - WEST END TO LAKE WORTH INLET - ACROSS THE GULF STREAM

6 30 AM - Lex in her usual spot - stealing the captains chair. The fact that we are running in a calm ocean is no accident...we picked the perfect day to cross.

Grace relaxing as we cross. The seas are calm, the boat is running smoothly, we are enjoying the Man-of-War jellyfish floating on the surface and the flying fish soaring across the waves.

Halfway across, Lexie tosses her message-in-a-bottle into the heart of the gulf stream. Off to Europe it goes!
