Treasure Cay

After saying our goodbyes in Boat Harbour we set course North toward home. We had plans from going straight to Munjack Cay but as we reached Don’t Rock the ocean rollers were breaking across this passage. We miscalculated and hit the area at falling tide. Too risky to bottom out in the passage, therefore we headed West toward Treasure Cay and spent the night.

Things happen for a reason. Not planning this destination we were greeted by Monica and Charlotte from the Bahamas Marine Survey group after tying up. Unfortunately Lexie suffered from a headache the night she met Diane Claridge and was unable to be her animated self. It was a huge disappointment and letdown for Doug and I after planning the huge excursion down to Sandy Point. During our ride from the South we had 2 dolphin encounters (one at Don’t Rock) which provided us another opportunity to photograph and log in GPS waypoint for the Marine Survey group to explore. Our advice and direction for the group afforded them the chance to see 2 pods joining at Don’t Rock. They were delighted and we were able to share with them our experiences once again when they returned to Treasure Cay later that afternoon.

We also met Rod and Lisa from Lucky Peek-what a nice surprise!
