New Year's Day 2006 posted by Grace

We spent New Year's Eve just relaxing on Tide Pool. We all went to bed very early with a little bit of $ in our pockets-so that we enter the new year with $ in our pockets (possibly an old Chinese tradition). We awoke at midnight to fireworks in our harbor at Green Turtle Cay. Not bad considering the Grucci brothers are not available here.
On New Year's day Sue Lahaie greeted us early that morn on her bike and invited us over at Bita Bay House for dinner. We had a late morning snorkel at 'Tide Pool Bay' and proceeded to have lunch at Pineapples which is a restaurant overlooking Black Sound and the settlement at New Plymouth. What was so special about this place was the swimming pool convienently situated at the foot of the bar. This allowed Doug and I to almost have a peaceful lunch as our daughters snorkelled in this pool. Later we proceeded to Bita Bay House with Bentley as the guest of honor. We thoroughly enjoyed turkey with all its sides prepared by Sue Lahaie and Kathy Corish. A baked meal-something which the creatures of "Tide Pool" have not enjoyed for some time since we lack an oven. Post meal entertainment consisted of the Lessing girls and the Lahaie boys, John and James. It's amazing how a few balloons can preoccupy them so. Rick also gave his share of body somersaulting of the kids. Not bad excercise for a dad who'll be fifty in a few days (Sorry Rick-for this mention). All in all we had a wonderful evening-fun for all that was only to continue the next day.
